Patrick Hayes

Writer/Associate Producer. Patrick, who describes himself as an Irish Brummie is a writer living and working in the West Midlands. He has been writing extensively for nearly forty years in theatre, film and radio. He has won awards for two of his plays, ‘You Know What Happened,’ and ‘Buckets of Sunshine,’ and his work has been seen throughout various venues in the West Midlands including the Birmingham Rep, The Belgrade, Coventry and the Midland Arts Centre. His ‘Magnus Opus’ is a trilogy of plays set in France during World War Two. The first of the trilogy, ‘Les Vaches Dans Le Champ,’ played to full houses at its premiere and received excellent audience feedback. Other works include: ‘Break The Spell’ ‘The House That Jack Built’ and, ‘Not Just Pretty Faces.’ Patrick has also worked in theatre in Poland and Austria. Patrick is also a qualified English and Drama teacher and worked for many years as a community arts worker in schools, colleges and community venues where he wrote, devised and directed a plethora of theatre and drama projects. He was also responsible for producing a plethora of community arts projects which included, Dig for Victory, Victorian Days- living history projects, community film festivals, fashion shows and street theatre. Not only is Patrick an accomplished playwright he is also a published author and professional actor.
