Creating Opportunities for
New Writing and Theatre
with an emphasis on the combination of theatre and
modern European culture, history and languages

Three young medical students, one German, one French, and one British, have attended a medical conference in Limoges, France. After the conference they decide to travel together to La Riviere.
Due to a heavy storm, they become stranded at station late at night in a deserted town. They are rescued by Maurice who owns an auberge Les Quatre Vents.
Soon, strange happenings occur, the discovering of a diary from the war, sounds of music, songs and voices from the past. The audience is transported back to 1944 and the inhabitants of the former farmhouse are brought back to life.
The story begins to unfold. The three young people embark on a journey where they discover the tragic past of, ‘Oradour sur Glane,’ the French village whose inhabitants were attacked by the Nazis, 10th June 1944. They also discover disturbing links from 1944 to themselves.
The play is based on true historical life events.
The play received Five and Four Star reviews, played to full houses and was a tremendous success! White Bear’s plan is now to re-stage the play so it can reach more audiences!
